It is always interesting to see how positions change on this list as economic things changes around the world. This is also one of the hardest lists to get, because currently you need to have at least tens of billions net worth to enter the list. But nobody says that it’s impossible! Elon Musk is the world’s richest man, with a net worth of $219 billion. He is the founder, CEO and CTO of SpaceX, co-founder of Tesla Motors, and chairman of SolarCity. He also founded The Boring Company, a tunnel construction company.

Musk was born in South Africa and moved to Canada aged 17 to attend Queen’s University. He subsequently transferred to the University of Pennsylvania two years later, where he received dual bachelor’s degrees in economics and physics. He moved to California in 1995 to attend Stanford University but decided instead to pursue a business career, co-founding web software company Zip2 with his brother Kimbal. The start-up was acquired by Compaq for $307 million in 1999. Mr. Zuckerberg promised with his wife to spend $3 billion on the next decade to cure or prevent all diseases by the end of the century. That sounds somewhat a great thing, but we’re skeptical as long as humans are humans and not androids or something like that. Bacteria & viruses causing problems have been there long before us, so wiping them out with billions could be impossible mission. Hopefully it is not!

There are no single women in the top ten richest people in the world list. That’s sad. Are men so much better in business?

So we made an exemption to get just a one women on the list! That’s because the 9th place is actually split between Koch brothers, and depending how we calculate, the next place is either number ten or eleven. To be honest, it is actually number eleven because we already have ten people on the list, but anyway lets go…

Bettencourt is not only the only women in this list but she is also the richest woman in Europe. Not bad at all at the age of 94!
